The "speech processing strategy" is
a special code used to turn sound into a pattern of electrical
pulses. These electrical pulses are then sent to the electrode
in the cochlea, from which they are picked up by the auditory
nerve. The aim of the speech processing strategy is to represent
speech as naturally as possible.
My processor uses a high-tech speech coding strategy
CIS+ and makes use of Med-El's patented Hibert Transformation
-- which allows an accurate representation of the very rapid
and often subtle changes in language and music.
